The L114305 tap and drill is a great choice for threading stainless steels with a hole part way through (blind hole). The E239 metric coarse tap creates the thread in the hole pre-drilled by the A108 drill and you can be sure the set provides the correct diameter A108 drills to pre-drill the holes for the E239 taps. For pre-drilling the hole, the A108 drill can be used in many different applications for a number of materials, but is especially suited to drilling stainless steels. The steam oxide finish helps stop work piece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the drill. The A108 has a split point to help self-centering on the workpiece when you begin drilling whilst the 135 degree point angles reduce the amount of force needed to drill the hole. Part of Dormer's Blue Shark range of taps, the E239 tap for metric coarse threads is an automatic choice when threading stainless steels. The tap is manufactured conforming to the German Institute for Standardization and made from powder metal high speed cobalt which will prolong the life of the tool and improve performance. The special Super B coating gives better results when threading harder materials such as stainless steels and is great for making sure the chips do not stick to the cutting edge of the tap, meaning you get an accurate thread. The spiral flute design is what makes the E239 the right tap for threading blind holes (only part way through the material) and means you can thread right to the bottom of the hole.
